FS: Bill Buckner Game Used Bat Red Sox

Bill Buckner Game Used Cooper Bat from the 1986-88 seasons while Buckner was with the Boston Red Sox. Buckner's number 6 is written on the knob and the bat shows nice use. Great tar markings - Bat is cracked in upper handle / barrel where the black finish starts - no deadwood or pieces missing - a fine example - $325 shipped.....Thanks for the look!

Bat has been sold! Thanks for all the inquiries….

Buckner was a great player…..one of my favorites from the 70s and 80s…

Damn, I need to start looking here. Was definitely interested now that I just looked and saw it was sold.

Great item. I’ve met Mookie Wilson on several occasions and have a fair amount of signed stuff from him - this would have been the ideal pairing. If you have another one lmk :p

Best

Not right now - I’ve had many Buckner bats over the years - what a great player - a borderline HOFer…..and his career defined by one play which is a shame - he was a stud - hands down…..22 year career - 2,715 career hits and a .289 career average…..

Just have too much stuff and hated to sell….but was chasing some other items….

Outside of Yaz, Palmer and Kirk Gibson, he’s one of my favorite non Yankee / Met players of all time….

Two other interesting Bill Buckner facts. In a 22 year Big League Career, he never once had a single Big League game where he struck out 3 or more times. The other is that his season high for strikeouts in any season throughout his career was 40. Those Buckner bats did not miss what they were swung at!

Incredible when you think about it....no more than 40 strikeouts in one year....

Yet, he is 46th on the all time list....I would have guessed higher with those stats of less than 40 / year....
