Closing Tonight - Love of the Game Summer Premier Auction

Hi Everyone:

Just a reminder that tonight is the closing of LOTG's Summer Auction.

Extended bidding begins at 9pm Eastern, with the Double OT beginning at 1AM. In order to participate in extended bidding, you must have a bid on that item prior to 9pm.

This has been a very active auction! We're really appreciative of everyone's enthusiasm.

I did want to point out a few items that are particularly cool.

Lot #2 is a gorgeous painting of Mike Trout by our friend Graig Kreindler. While Mike Trout hardly qualifies as prewar baseball, he's in the news today as he timed his return from injury perfectly with the close of tonight's auction.

Lot #5 is a fantastic 1870 Rockford Forest City's CdV that includes a rare playing days photo of Albert Spalding. It's pretty seldom that one can find a piece dating back to before the days of professional organized baseball that contains a name as important as Spalding. This item currently has no bids!

Lot #9 is a rare 1911 E100 Type 2 Buck Weaver. These cards are rare to begin with, but the Type 2 versions are almost never seen. I believe this is one of just three graded examples. A very important card of Weaver.

Lot #11 is a T206 Christy Mathewson with a much tougher Sovereign 460 back, graded PSA 6. Just a fantastic card.

The auction also has a large selection of tough Exhibit cards, some great 19th Century pieces (check out the photos), and a nice selection of quality memorabilia.

Thanks to all who consigned, and good luck to all who are bidding!
