While knowledgeable collectors who can confirm an autographs authenticity by looking are common on these boards, they make up a pretty small percentage of the market of people buying such autographs, so for resale value it is pretty important.

I am far from an expert on most players but pretty confident on Jackie Robinson. But I won't buy one without it being authenticated without a nice discount, since I know I will have to deal with the hassle and cost of getting it authenticated if I ever looked to deal it and wanted to maximize the potential.
