REA site issues?
Right at midnight, I can't refresh or load pages.
Same here
i am frozen on the site as well....
Same here
Same, guessing they will add more time
Fairy obvious that it was going to happen. How else can they squeeze another 24 hours of bidding in.

This seems to happen all the time now.
We'll see how it plays out, I guess.
Same here .. .. just like the last auction
Ditto
HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. |
I can’t bid frozen
No more bids from me... it can go for another week for all I care
Same
Grrrr |
Same here….. here we go again 🤦*♂️
Again!!
It eventually loaded a "server error application" timeout page for me.
Again?!? Happening a second time is ridiculous.

Interesting email they just sent out...
Second auction in a row that this has happened. REA is dropping off my list of consignors soon.
Now:
"Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." |
Yup, it’s down. I’m off to bed

We are aware of issues involving access to the site, and we are working to resolve them rapidly.
In order to properly resolve the issues, the auction will have to be taken offline for a short period of time. This will involve temporarily closing the auction to preserve the data as it currently stands. During this time, individual item pages may display language to the effect of "Item Closed," "Lot Sold," and/or "Unavailable For Bidding." Despite these messages, please understand that the auction is NOT closed and will reopen with bids at the levels where they were prior to the auction being taken offline. These are temporary messages that we cannot prevent from displaying during an event like this. Once access to the site is restored and the auction is brought back online, each lot will be given a fresh 20 minute clock for the lot by lot closing period to restart. In the event that a similar event happens before the 20 minutes are elapsed, we will again take the auction offline and follow the same steps as outlined above. In the event that a third event happens before the second period of 20 minutes has elapsed, the auction will be extended under 9 PM EDT on Monday, August 15, at which time the standard 10 minute lot by lot closing will take effect. We deeply regret this occurrence and are working closely with our software partners to resolve it as quickly and effectively as possible. Please stay tuned to your email for updates. Laughable. |
Yup...
Website Name:
bid.robertedwardauctions.com…URL Checked: no responseResponse Time: unknownLast Down: DOWN Bid.robertedwardauctions.com is DOWN It is not just you. The server is not responding... |
Deja vu.
It's hard to believe that an industry leader would allow this to happen repeatedly... |
Hopefully they can jumpstart it soon and we don't go another full day.
You would think with these technical issues happening like last time they would have the 10 minute countdown start at like 10pm eastern time which still allows people on the west coast a reasonable time to start bidding in the countdown period.
I said it was unacceptable the first time. Hopefully others demand it be fixed now. Prices are very strong in this auction from what I can tell - will be even stronger if a day gets added.
RE Auction
Now it says all lots are closed?
My lot is counting down from 20 minutes.

Mine too.

Read the email
They have closed all lots temporarily as they try to restore access - lots are not closed.
Yep, 20 minute clock started going at about 12:11
It's a strange thing to have to stay up until midnight on the first worknight of the week to begin with...but then to do it and have this happen sucks.

Looks like it’s back up with 20 minute lot by lot closes

Which would still be dumb. |

"LOTS ARE CLOSING INDIVIDUALLY! Every lot is now on its own 20 minute clock and the lot-by-lot countdown started. Place a bid on a lot, and the individual lot clock will reset to 20 minutes. When any clock counts down to 0:00, that lot will close." |

Hard to believe it happened again with this auction, but at least they got an email out much faster this time explaining what they were planning on doing. If the site stays up, then it won't be nearly as bad as the last auction.
