232 Different Arcade Exhibit Cards, Tons of Super Stars!
 

Amazing collection of 232 different Arcade cards. Condition is consistent with the scans throughout. Backs are clean.

Are there any sports connections? Well, there's Burt Lancaster who played Dr. "Moonlight" Graham. How about Abbott and Costello who perfected Who's on First? Mattress salesperson Joey Heatherton, wife of Cowboys receiver Lance Rentzal is here. Chuck Conners of the Dodgers as The Rifleman and if we stretch it, there's singer Claudine Longet who "accidently" killed Olympic skier Spider Sabich with a gunshot to the stomach.

Among other Super Stars not shown are Jimmy Stewart, Gene Kelly, Diana Ross, Amanda Blake, Patty Duke, Carolyn Jones, Elizabeth Montegomery, Mary Tyler Moore, Carroll Baker, Sandra Dee, Annette Funicello, Ann-Margaret, 24 TV cowboys of the 1950s, Set of 16 cowboys (I think the only 1970s cards in the collection), Lee Majors, Lorren Green, Dan Blocker, Slim Pickens!, Katherine Hepburn, Andrew Sisters, Phyllis MuGuire, Herb Alpert, Jane Fonda, Henry Fonda, June Lockart (Lassie's mom), Mia Farrow, Fernando Lamas, Jack Lemon, Robert Mitchem, and many, many more great personalities!

Are these originals from the 50's or some of the many reprints out there? The company that originally made them famously reprinted themselves in the 70s.

To the best of my knowledge, they are all original except for the set of 16 Cowboys that were mentioned in the original post. The other Cowboys are late 1950s, maybe early 60s and were the first that I collected. They are still among my favorites.

I will add that I am not an expert on these and don't even have a checklist for them. I just picked up cards that I liked.

You can tell if an Exhibit card is authentic rather than a reprint by looking at the back of the card. Reprints are usually on white or dark gray stock. (Some reprints were actually printed by ESCO on white stock in the 1970s.) Authentic cards are on light gray/tan stock (you might describe as sepia toned) and show some edge discoloration from exposure to sunlight and handling.

Here are the backs of the first 29 cards posted above. The two in the upper right corner that are lighter than the others are James Cagney and Richard Burton. Among the remaining backs of scanned cards are four others that are whiter than the others. The remainder are back-to-back in four pocket plastic pages. If you or anyone else are interested in working a deal, I will gladly scan the rest of them in the same manner. Just let me know. Thanks.

Ive handled these had hundreds including lone ranger sold them here and on facebook..these are all authentic good to go
