New All Star Game Rule
It's not as if people take the all-star game seriously to begin with, but this is just goofy:

We don't want these fella's getting all tuckered out playing more then a 9 inning game with their 40+ man rosters.
:D Odds are it won't even come into play, but I don't understand how they think an anti-climactic HR Derby would be more entertaining then the tension of an extra-inning game. |
If they're worried about running out of players in an extra inning game, why don't they just adopt a rule to sub players back in the game after they have been taken out?

This dippy idea is straight out of Bud Lite - ex commish. Let us not forget, this is simply an exhibition game. It ain't baseball. Same as starting the 10th inning when the score is tied / no score and the batting team gets a "free" runner at 2nd base. Manfred and his BB poohbahs are desperate to goose up fan interest in the game. These are simply the latest iterations of "group think" gone nuts.

I am not saying it is right. But I am glad they are trying something. They are trying to keep the game shorter and at same to create more excitement to the masses. People loves homers
But when all said is done. IT does not matter. As it is the All Start Game and it does not count for anything and it is not a big rating drawer |
I'll stand alone and say I like it.
