The 1912 Olympics postcard. I bought mine in Sweden in 2016 from someone who had several. Even paying in Swedish Krone it was no where near the price people are paying for it here. It is a little damaged at the top which is mainly my fault, but it does not matter. It will never be sold and will be going to my alma mater along with the rest of my Olympic photography archives.

Are there any issues of Thorpe other than this team card?
I can't wait for his new biography due out in a month or so. |

Mr Thorpe as a member of the NFL's short-lived 1922-23 Oorang Indians. Left to right it is Thorpe (HOF), Joe Guyon (HOF), Emer Busch, and Peter Calac.
And I am throwing in another RPPC of Busch from his days at Carlisle. |

Gotta love Jim.

Better posthumously than never. From the accounts I have read about him, Jim Thorpe may have been an even better running back than Jim Brown! Not too many runners could take a football end to end and score a touchdown in one attempt against 50 defending football players on the field . . . with zero blockers . . . and do it twice in a row. This guy had the elusiveness of Gale Sayers and the power of Jim Brown combined.

Jim has some great local ties to PA that I love so much. The Carlisle Indian school that Jim Came through Just a few years prior Chief bender also graduated from. I'm not sure if they would've played on any similar sports teams but damn that would be amazing to see.
It is very sad what the school was designed for though. But I guess the one good thing that came out of it was Jim Discovered he was an athletic phenom. |

Thorpe is amazing and that is a great rookie card! |
Gotta give Thorpe his due after all these years. Since this is a baseball board, I'll stick to just his baseball stuff.

I feel this is the best Thorpe that exists. Seen almost all of the '55 AA's of #37 in 9, and this one is the closest to Gem Mint.
