Just picked this up fantasy piece

I just picked this up without looking real close at it - was impressed by the pennant. The pin seems to be to good to be real.
Thoughts? Thanks.

Mine looks just like yours. I've long assumed this was a legit but very common pin, like Carl Hubbell's — in contrast to most from same era. There's also a very common pin of Gabby's teammate Bill Lee that looks similar. Unless all the Hartnett pins are modern creations, this can't be a fantasy piece, but it could be a fake. Does anybody know if the Hartnett pin is listed in the Muchinsky book?

Chris, thanks, thanks for reminding me. I have had the Lee pin for a long time and compared and they are exactly the same so I presume it must be legit. What was throwing me was the back condition but my Lee pin is the same.
Appreciate the response.

Thanks. I knew it was common, even though it is Hartnett, and I do appreciate the confirmation.

I'm certainly no expert on the subject, and I find myself questioning the authenticity of any pin that doesn't have a rusted back. I'd really like to learn more about which pins have commonly been faked and how you can tell the difference, but I haven't found a good resource for this type of information. Maybe I'lll start a thread on it ...

They don’t always rust. I’ve never seen a green back but I trust the guys who say it’s legit. Some of my SF Giants PM-10s have yellow backs…
