Hand rubbed Giamatti ball signed on sweet spot by Mike Schmidt and inscribed #500 4-18-87. Ball point pen shows fading as seen in images. Possible evidence of actual game use visible, but definitely 'game ready'.

Story is that it was obtained by Bob Engel, NL umpire, either by trade or in person a week later in Pittsburgh. Note came with ball.

Purchased in 2013 from a fellow board member.
