Crossovers
Many collectors believe that submitting cards in a competitive holder reduces your chance at a crossover. I think if a card is downgraded a brief explanation should be given. What’s your experience with crossovers between SGC and PSA, visa versa.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...075a46e604.jpg

I’ve never submitted graded cards for crossover. I always crack them out and submit them raw. However, if I were to submit graded cards, I would put a minimum grade requirement on them. I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t think the TPGs owe any explanation or notes. Just give me the grade. That is what we are paying for, and all that matters in the final analysis.

I have 7 cards at PSA getting crossed right now, however they are all low grade. So hopefully no big surprises but will follow up once returned.
As for getting an explanation, in the eyes of the grader they are grading it the same as any other card, and they don't give explanations on those so I wouldn't expect different with crossovers. They do allow you (actually require you) to choose a minimum grade you'd allow it to cross too. I think that kind of takes any responsibility for extra explanation etc out of their hands. Obviously only my opinion. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk |

I’d love to see each grading company post the following YTD. In fact, I dare them to. My hypothesis is down will prevail for both. SGC to PSA How many cross, up, down PSA to SGC. How many cross, up, down Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
For the card in the first picture, would Top/Bottom centering have been the reasoning for the downgrade to an 8.
CSG used to allow for you to pay more for subgrades, but I think they've gotten rid of them recently. |
