Babe Ruth sale on ebay.
 

A 1933 goudey Babe Ruth graded BVG 2 just sold on ebay for $2,259. Card was sold by a seller from Canada with 0 feedback. If anyone on this site bought it, I wish you well in receiving the card.

I paid $250 for mine. But that was in 1988, at Chanute AFB, not eBay - eBay did not exist yet. At the time, I thought it was an outrageous sum (but I also bought Gehrig, because they just go together, $500 for both). Who could know? Seems like both an eternity ago and only yesterday, both at the same time. Apologies, not trying to interrupt the thread.
