Sgc grading on site at the national
Has anyone heard if SGC will be grading on site this year at the National ?
I’m holding out hope :-) |
I am hoping they or PSA will - if not, just may not make the trip
I have heard they are both not doing onsite anything - maybe that will change Jimmy |
since PSA did on site last year, it would be strange for them not to this year. SGC did not last year.
|
I won't be making the Nationals, because it seems to be an East Coast event. The last one I went to was in Anaheim years ago and my daughter and I had a blast.
PSA is doing on-site grading at the Long Beach expo at the end of June. $150 a pop, so I would think the value has got to be there to make it worth it. |
If they don’t, I think it is a missed opportunity. Why would a major grading company not be and not grading at the biggest card show if the year?

Sounds fun, get your pre-war "A" grade same day instead of 30 days later.

Less than a month to go until the National. We are hearing reports of SGC grading at record speeds....what’s the word for them grading On-Site at the National this year??? Anyone heard on new news ?
Hope they're not blowing it off again. |
With three weeks to go before the National, you would think they would know what they are going to do. Wondering what the big secret is ? Unfortunately, they don't have time to respond to any phone calls or messages.

They have not announced prices etc yet. Updated with link https://twitter.com/natsturner/statu...D4H-JRDIw&s=19 Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk |
According to the NSCC website, SGC has a 20 X 40 ft. Corporate Booth at the National in Atlantic City. Are they there to grade on-site or is this booth just for chit-chat and promotion ? Does anybody know ? Regards, Paul

For a company who prides themselves on being there for the collector they have done a shit job of letting anyone know what their intentions are. I would have thought that lead cheerleader Peter Steinberg would have made an announcement by now. Will be a game time decision I think. That is just the way this company is running right now.
Can just hear the video now... Guys I know you have all been wanting to know what SGC's plans are for the National and because the show is weeks away I think this is the perfect time to let you all know what our intentions are. We are overwhelmed by all of your support of SGC these last couple of years. Without you guys we would not be here. We want to show you that we are listening so guys we have great news for you. Because you want us there grading on site we have listened and we will be in AC to grade on site. You are the reason SGC is thriving right now and this is the least we can do for all of your support. |

Has anyone contacted SGC to see what their National plans are?
|
They will not answer this question.
|
For a company that prides themself on customer service. They don't receive phone calls, they don't allow submissions to be dropped off or picked up at their office on Boca and I've never seen them respond to any social media post comment. I would be very surprised if they announce on site grading at the National.

Everything holdered as authentic...you guess the grade!

Like 7 years ago I put in an online sub, and 10 minutes later someone that I thought was the owner called me to walk me through the process. Times have changed, I guess. I'm just glad to be here.
|
Seems they are grading so fast right now (which is the primary criteria of their supporters) that they may have forgotten they are the only one of the top 4 to not only announce National plans but they might be the only one who will not be showing for onsite grading. Both concepts are very confusing to me, at least.
|
still quicker......
You can send to SGC and get your cards graded faster than _ _ _ at the National on site. Type in any 3 letters you want. All for $30 each.
lol |

Presently there is only one company who checks both of those boxes based on my experience. Just as PSA supporters have to adapt to waiting, SGC supporters have to adapt for a lower ROI. |
I am blown away that it is a week from the National and we still have no clue if/what SGC is doing at the National. That speaks volumes to me.
|
Where oh where is the SGC National on-site announcement ? Yes, you can ship cards to them for $30 per, but when you have irreplaceable cards that you cannot afford to lose in transport, I prefer to hand them to SGC at the National for on-site turn around. Yes, it is more expensive but I am happy to pay the freight for piece of mind. I have done this for many years until very recently.
|
SGC just announces National plans. No on-site encapsulation, but pre-grading available at $25 per card. Of course, drop off service is also allowed.

What is pre-grading?

Here is their "big" announcement

I had to LMAO when he said "pretty much". So it is basically the same joke of a pre grade Beckett has. They will charge you but the pre grade can change when they grade it for real.:(

It appears this company has a niche and business model it's comfortable with and isn't looking to aggressively expand beyond it. People looking for it to do so are going to be disappointed. People who like it as is will continue to like it.
|
$25 for a raw grade review when the complete slabbed turnaround is $30 couple Just makes no sense.
Really the only reason I would use it personally is if I had cards that I were questioning authenticity on.. and I have none. |

40% off when you decide to get a pre grade encapsulated. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ad0fd58de1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...be61ee89fb.jpg |
As I posted...that Peter can deliver horrible news to you and you will end up thanking him profusely as you complete your communication with him. Standing O for Mr. Steinberg. He should be listed as an Asset on SGC's balance sheet.
|
so $25 to pre grade and $18 to encapsulate. Why would you spend $43 instead of $30?
|
SGC is sorely in need of someone who knows how to market their product.
|
I will submit a few
