Soccer Statue/Figural found in Midwest

Anyone know anything about this statue/figural? Picked it up at the Rochester, MN Gold Rush show a few years back and have never been able to get anywhere in identification or gathering more information. Figured this would be the forum that might be able to help! Utilized a early 20th century college stein to visualize size.

You will need to post a photo.

Hopefully it worked this time!

Paging Carlton... Paging Carlton....

Looks like a nice early figural piece. Can you tell if it's solid bronze, or perhaps Galvano (metallic-coated chalk statue). Soccer pieces like this tend to be in less demand than Baseball, but I'm sure it still carries some nice value.

The base is hollow. There is a slight indent on the bottom of the base where there likely was some felt that is no longer present.

The figure and the ball are separate pieces attached to the base.it seems. You can tell they have some decent weight to them. I really don't know much about bronzes or figurals so I can't really say much to the quality of the material but there is some very good detail and the wear patterns on it look right.

I picked it up cause I try to pick up old sports when I can( it's getting near impossible these days), Soccer is an emerging sports collectible, and the price I was able to pay given the level of antiques at this show was shocking.

Carlton was the first guy I thought to be honest

Hi..is the base metal or marble...how tall is it?...If the base is metal and it's about 9 1//2"-10" tall then I think it's one of a series of different sports statues....all the same basic format, i.e. size and quality made by a German company...I've had the tennis player and track runner...I'm not sure who the maker was...is there any markings underneath?...

Hey Carlton! Sorry for the late reply.

The statue is roughly the size of 9.5"-10" height.

The base is metal. I do believe the base is hollow though. I have not been able to find a maker mark on it although I think the quality of the player is well done. I dont believe its a high end bronze material but I would say its a spelter metal with the casting being of nice quality.
