Very cool. I just posted the photo of him being carried off in a different thread.

Super neat to see those telegrams. Below are some in my collection.

The first image is a congratulatory telegram to Wilbert Robinson regarding the 1895 Temple Cup, the precursor to the World Series. The rest of the telegrams are pretty straight forward.

After a decade of threatening to put my collection online, it's finally up the last few years. More telegrams are on the site, but these came to mind first. If you feel like checking it out, the site is CooperstownExpert.com.

Each HoFer has his/her own page with 350+ guys not in the Hall too.

Anyway, keep the cool telegrams coming. Love seeing the pictures of these historical documents. It sure is nice to have a place to share the hobby together.

These are all amazing. I'd never even thought about telegrams before, but now I want one.

A post-war telegram from Branch Rickey to Jack Bolling, a player looking to latch on with Mobile minor leaguers.

Ha such awesome stuff. Try explaining to a kid today what a telegram was and the essential role it played. . .LOL.

A really cool one Jackie writing back to Montreal about his son's birth in Los Angeles. Name mispelled Robertson.

I showed this off a few years ago but here’s my 1932 Kiki Cuyler telegram.

After a long two week road trip, Kiki used his off day back in Chicago on 9/19/32 to wire his friend in Michigan that he could score World Series tickets once the Cubs “cinch” the pennant. The Cubs were 6 games up on the Pirates, needing one win against them in the upcoming series at home to punch their ticket into the WS. Cuyler himself would “cinch” it for them the very next day with a bases loaded triple.
