The Ultimate Trivia Question

Who is the all-time leader in scoring from second base in extra-inning games without batting?

This is based on one of the worst rules introduced recently in MLB. Pinch runners do not count, only players who start the inning at second base.

I do not have an answer, nor do I know how to find the answer.

I do not think it's Nicolas Cage, even if he portrayed the 'Ghost Rider'.

- so...you're welcome...I'm sure I've significantly narrowed the field of possible suspects.

-oh, that's right...we're looking for ghost RUNNERS.

Frank - of course, we could extrapolate your supposedly 'ultimate' trivia question by asking, 'which pitcher gave up the most 'unearned' runs via ghost runners...with less than two outs...and which occasion were surrendered same in those situations by an LHP or a RHP...and on...and on....

By the way, have we really gotten to the point where we even need the ghost runners with 15-16 man pitching staffs? REALLY?

I long for Mickey Lolich and Wilbur Wood.

I would suggest that the bench player(s) sit in the bullpen and the pitchers sit in the dugout. This would eliminate the need to remodel bullpens.:D
