Shout out to Beverly Hills Baseball Cards
Tanked up the car and made the 90 minute drive to Beverly Hills Baseball Cards off Robertson in LA.
Picked up 3 well priced cards for my 206 collection! Matt, the owner, is fantastic and his store is worth your time to stop in. |
And if you're engaging enough, he has celebrity stories.
(Not related to any celebrities, but here's my pickup.) https://i.postimg.cc/d1MRW8fv/52-T-088-Feller.jpg |
I have known Matt for many years since BH is where I grew up...always seems to be very well stocked

Beverly Hills Baseball Card shop
This is my local card shop! I love going there. I've been going there since I was 8 years old. Matt is very friendly and definitely knowledgeable.
|
I always stop by when I’m in LA. Matt and the guys there are awesome! Outstanding inventory and fair prices.

90 minutes could be a 5 mile rush hour trip...always makes me happy that I get somewhat frustrated when the speeds tip below 90mph around here, lol. |

https://townsquare.media/site/442/fi...png?w=980&q=75 Hell, I had to go from Hollywood to Glendale yesterday afternoon but the 101 looked f***ed at Sunset, so I took Cahuenga to Barham, turned right, and was doing great until I ran into a DWP sewer job and got stuck in a five mile, one-lane conga line from Lake Hollywood Drive past Warner Brothers. Took me 45 minutes to go five miles. I should've pulled an illegal U on Barham and then gone back up Barham to Cahuenga, across Lankershim under the 101 and past Universal Studios, down Cahuenga north to Riverside, then cut through Toluca Lake to Hollywood Way, past Disney and through the Rancho to Sonora then turned right on San Fernando. I could even have gone to Vineland and across Camarillo and turned onto Alvarado at the three-way intersection next to the 7-11. Wasn't all bad, though: I took Magnolia and once i got to San Fernando it was clear sailing from Olive all the way to Chevy Chase Drive. Of course, there was no parking when I got to my destination on Chevy Chase, so after circling the block three times, I had to go down Central and across Palmer to slip into a back alleyway that had some hidden parking behind the building. But I digress... |
I am dying over here. :D

I always liked one comedian's bit about California high speed chases. She was amazed at how fast they could get across town, so she was taking notes. "Go the wrong way on the 405. Okay, I can do that..." :D

Regarding the Beverly Hills card shop, I work in downtown LA and somehow have never been able to stop by. Hoping to skip out of work early one of these days and check it out since I hear so many good things about it. |

Worked with Matt on a deal yesterday...good, funny dude.
Yes Justin...I will take MI freeways (and people) any day...but the lodge/75/696 isn't great either at rush hour...and you have 6 months of winter! |
