Unknown Bill Dickey card

Can anyone help? I have had this Bill Dickey card for 35 to 55 years. I do not know what it is or what it may be worth (if anything). Please take a look and let me know if you can help. Thanks! Tim

Hmmmm, no clue. Since it mentions HOF, would have to assume it is 1954, Dickey's year of induction, or later. The drawing of his portrait is one I've never seen before. Images and font seem period for something from the 50s or 60s. Also, the proofreading is not great, they misspelled the word "too" as "to" on the reverse in one spot, so not indicative of a major, professional issue. Also no markings, copyright, indication of manufacturer or origin. Doesn't seem this would have ever actually been associated with the baseball HOF itself. Would seem to be from some set revolving around HOF players though, but don't remember ever seeing another like this. Maybe from some more obscure HOF, like Louisiana's (where Dickey was from) sports hall of fame. But he didn't get inducted into that till 1981, and the card looks to be using much older images/fonts for something from the 80s. It doesn't seem to be some type of NY HOF either, since you would expect other Yankee greats to be in, and as a result, likely very well known among rabid Yankees fans. Could this be some type of fantasy piece or extremely limited, oddball collector's issue?

Looks like a TCMA set.

No, the more I think about it, the more sure I am that I have had this since the sixties. TCMA did not publish any cards until 1972.

Besides, TCMA had their name listed somewhere on the back of most all their cards, or so I thought.

Could it be from one of the Callahan Hall of Fame sets?

Good thought. However, I just looked at several sites selling Callahan cards and also Bing images of Callahan cards. None of the cards featured the design seen in this card. Maybe it is a Callahan set not represented in the pictures I saw. Thanks!

That isn't a Callahan card, image and detail, as well as fonts, are all wrong. And card stock nowhere near the same, Callahan's were thinner, more paper-like stock. This appears to be a thicker cardboard type stock.

What are the card's dimensions by the way?

Guessing 2 x 3. I will measure tonight when I get home.

The card is 1 7/8 by 3

What’s with his jawline? Maybe a card show giveaway?

thanks, but this card predates card shows. i have owned it since the sixties.

It is hard to believe that no one knows what this is bump

The drawing is similar to Dickey's 1961 Baseball Scoops card. Not the same drawing but it looks like one could have been based on the other.

Just a guess,

The card is not numbered, so probably not part of a set. Dickey was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1954 (the only Yankee elected that year). Maybe it was a giveaway at a Yankee home game during the 1954 season to commemorate his HOF induction.
