2021 Historic Autos T206 triple folder Q

I have acquired some 2021 Historic autos triple folders with quad T206s. I have a couple questions I was hoping for some input on. First, I only bought them for the t206s.

1. Is there any good reason to keep them in the triple folder? Generally keep all my t206s stored the same way…

2. Has anyone taken them out? Any best practices?

3. You can’t see the backs, anyone pull one out with a back that’s not SC or PD?

Thanks!

I have never seen HA use a rare back, the gimmick is usually just the paring with an auto. These are new, but I would safely assume common back. Surprised you found these cheaper than buying separately. If not and you were hoping to hit gold I would likely abandon that plan.

The only inserts with non common backs were Topps T206 buybacks and all of those may have likely been created by a prior board member. In any situation the reason they were faked and why I would not cut these out is that they are usually worth more in the cutouts.

Maybe post it on the several card boards and see if someone will trade for 5 instead?

Makes you wonder if there's any back damage to the cards. Goes to show that card companies may not totally understand the product they're pedaling. It would have been better if the card company created the cards with a transparent backing. Maybe they did think of doing that but then figured it's cheaper to have a solid backing.

So I took the cards out and they are actually secured by tape on the back, which resulted in a bit of print loss…sad…

Not a triple folder, or a 2021, but my only Historic Auto card is this Doyle Portrait, sorry I don’t have a better scan of the full slab. I only bought it cause the card had a Tolstoi back and to this day its one of the only off-backs I have ever seen in an HA holder... I have seen a couple with a Sovereign back.

Anyway, there is at least a chance your cards could have an off-back, Good Luck

What do you plan to do with the autos? Lmk, thx

Do you have pictures of taking them out? I'd love to see the way that they were taped in there. Pretty amazing that someone thought that was a legit thing to do in 2021.

Historic tape

Ugh, that's awful. They used 2-sided tape to secure the cards!

I've seen where these have sold for a premium over and above the value of the 4 cards separately. I'm not sure why. Maybe someone is hoping to find rare backs. Seeing the back damage makes me leery of buying any. I have only one. Now I know to keep mine in the holder. Thank you for that info.

I guess I'm really stupid when it comes to these cards. Where do the autos actually fit in to this set type or group? Was it a chance of getting an autographed card? I remember the older singles that came with the cut auto's. They were kind of interesting, but just not for me. I have some graded 3x5's of T206 players. I figure, if I really wanted to, it would be more fun searching for 3x5's.

The one pictured had 4 t206s, the version with the autos has cards in the 2 outside panels and two autos vertically on top of each other in the middle panel.
