Why pictures won't load ? ? ?
 

I have my albums here and have had no previous problems.

I tried loading a photo the other day3, and no tab appeared fir "upload photo".

Is there a capacity?

Can we no longer load our collections ?

Any help ?

Nothing has changed and I am not aware of limits. Are you sure the pics are within size limits? As you know pics from a phone or ipad are going to be way too big. Your several folders look really nice.

I am on a notebook computer with accessories. When I just now uploaded a picture, from my pictures on my computer, they uploaded fine. I am not at all saying yawl aren't having issues. But we need to figure out why because everyone isn't. Where do yawl try to upload them from that are giving issues?

I am having the same issue. Was able to upload pictures for years with no issues, and then suddenly files are failing to upload.

Same here. For a long time the pics would only post sideways, but now it’s nothing at all. I’ve finally given up trying to post them.

What are yawl using to upload from? phone, notebook, ipad etc..? It shouldn't matter but not really sure where to start on this. I can look behind the scenes, with begging for some help, but it does work on my computer and I have no special rights or specs as far as that is concerned.
And I doubt very much this is the case but we did change servers several months back... That server wasn't recognizing a lot of ATT and affiliates (yahoo etc..) email addresses as they weren't white listed yet and it was taking a lot of time (months maybe)....

I need some cards, or blotters or whatever....(*the last being my specialty)

Works fine for me. The pictures in my album "2022-02-16" were both uploaded today. The Chase was done on a PC, the Mathewson on a phone. Hope this helps.

I guess for clarification it is my thought we are only talking about the photo album photos on the forum. Not the ones we upload in these posts...
If it is pictures in the main forum not uploading, then that might be easier to figure out.

I've also been having problems loading pictures on the BST page. Some load some do not. I have a 1952 Berk & Ross listing currently on the BST. All of my pictures were roughly the same size. Two of the cards' scans uploaded. The other two did not. I tried editing the scans for different sizes, and they still would not upload.

I am uploading from a PC using an HP Envy Photo 7855 scanner if that helps.

I've just loaded 8 on BST and have sold 3 in the first hour. I use collector focus as an intermediary step to reduce size of file. Check 'em out plug.

One wouldn't load for me yesterday until I cropped it a bit. It Worked after though. Never had that issue before.

Are you saying "collector focus" as in it is an ap for my phone or computer software for my pc?

I have the same problem with pictures of late. And people just posting 'it works fine for me' doesn't help those of us struggling with it.

I use a MAC (Apple) desktop and cannot load pictures. When I go to my albums there use to be a button to upload pictures. that button no longer appears.

That might be something I can check into.
It sounds like some are still having pic size issues. Those just need to be worked out on the user end.

Leon it’s the same thing on my IPhone. The upload pictures button isn’t there. I just assumed I had to many pictures loaded in your site.

collectorfocus.com is a pretty straight forward site to store images and assign a unique URL to each one. It is free. Once uploaded to the site, the size of the file is reduced and is thus compatible with uploading to the forum. as far as I know there is not an app for the phone.

I have been using the same phone for 3-5 years or so.... at first the pictures on my phone would download.... For the last year or so they haven't... I don't know whether my phone's pictures are different sizes or what but because I couldn't send pictures I participated a lot less... I will fully admit that I am older and not real techy.... Would love to find out what's going on... Used to be so easy...

I can upload from my IPhone or IPad but they are small and show up sideways. Thanks for the suggestion on Collector Focus Frank.

You would think it would be something the page admins would want to fix.

On a more serious note, our Admin Chris Browne, did a lot of work on the system last night. Things might not be perfect yet but should be getting better. There were quite a few size increases in picture capabilities last night. Whomever is having issues might let us know how they are doing now...And a huge thanks to Chris!

In regards to uploading a picture for a post. I found the following steps works best for me:

- Make sure your picture is around 200K in size. I use the following tool to optimize my picture file, https://imagecompressor.com (easy to use).

- JPG format is desired if you want the biggest picture for posting, see example below.

Anyhow, this method works for me.

Before I upload any photos for here from my PC I must resize my photo 25 to 50 percent using the PAINT feature showing that option so no problem uploading for me after reducing the size from 100 to say 25 percent--( not required if uploading photos to eBay)

Uploading this 3MB picture from my iPhone 7 Plus

Basically, I do this as well. I scan an image as a jpeg, open with Photos, and trim away any empty space, so that only the card (or whatever I am scanning) remains. I save that and then open again with Paint. In Paint, I resize to somewhere between 25% and 50% depending on the size of the image.

I also like to use Preview Post to see if the image looks right for the item involved. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the right size.

I’m probably an idiot but thank you for this! I can finally post pictures again after nothing for the last 5-6 years.

I hadn't been having any problems with uploading pictures, but something is now different because pictures I uploaded the past few days are now showing up much larger on my post than they did before. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

These are all pictures I took with my phone then saved onto my PC and uploaded to a post using the Manage Attachments button.

not really a problem but I just uploaded some pics and they appeared about twice the size as normal.

Almost all picture restrictions were removed (dimensions and file size) where it now will upload without any resizing or compression. I’ll tweak it back a bit and test. Thanks for your input.
