1948 Cleveland Indians Picture Pack Post season
5 Attachment(s)
I want to say hi first of all, new to the site. I was directed to come here from a few members on a discord server I'm apart of. I'm sorry in advanced if this is the incorrect place to post this.
I was going through some of my older cards and found what seems to be, a set of the 4-in-1 1948 Cleveland Indians Picture Packs. I've been trying to do some research and know that the originals were 6.5 x 9. I currently have the 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" ( 5 x 7 - 4-in-1) issued set that identifies the team as World Champs. As I recall I received these over 25 years ago from a friend and they were his mom's (she has since passed away). I'm just seeing if anyone knows or has any information in regards to these? How do you tell if they are authentic? I came across this blog ( http://boblemke.blogspot.com/2009/07...8-indians.html ) while trying to do some research. I know zero about these cards, but here are a few thoughts:
I really, really doubt anyone would forge Photopack cards, so you don't have to worry about authenticity. I'm not sure what else you're wondering about outside of that - looking at the blog post, they probably are the 4X1 World Champion cards described. |
Is it possible that yours could be the same set, but simply cut apart as single cards? I'm also pretty sure this set was reprinted in the 1970s, so there's that to consider.
