I Just Logged Out Of eBay...

...Then I ran an anti-virus scan (McAfee and Windows Defender) and anti-malware and anti-spyware (Wise Care 365 and Privacy Eraser). After running all that and re-booting my PC, I could not log into eBay. I contacted customer support via my cell phone, and reported the "Captcha" loop I was stuck in. "Sarah", the rep I finally was able to talk to via a call back, cleared it and got me in. She stated that eBay has had numerous account hacks and attempted hacks in the past week, and that the activity dramatically ramped up just in the past 48 hours. The Captcha verification has also been hacked.

Ebay has been acting funny lately. This could be due to all these hackers but I have noticed, numerous times now, that when scrolling through a sellers listings, then opting to go to pg 2, it shows "0" listings.

What I have done, is completely leave (back out), then come back and try again and that usually works. I can see what they have listed on pg2, pg3, etc.

I have noticed, while scrolling through GM or GM2 cards, once you come to pg7 it is usually blank or also shows "0" listings. Go back, come back, got to pg 8 and there they are again. It will happen again on pg13, pg20 or 21 and so on.
Anyone else notice/have to deal with this?

Today I received no less than 50 items via email that were bogus listings, all started at $1

I've recently been getting locked out with those "It's not you, it's us." messages, a lot. Just get out and go back in and it usually takes me back to where I was, and can continue from there. I've never seen that so often like it seems to be doing lately. I wonder if that could somehow be related to all this?

Maybe they need some sort of 'authentication' service, to determine whether or not the login is 'authentic' before you receive your ebay connection?

LOL

Good one! But be careful and don't give them any more ideas. They'd probably start off offering the service free, and then later on begin charging for it. :D

I'm just glad to see they took down my '32 US Caramel Ruth that was listed by some random seller after I reported it as a fraudulent listing. Someone on a FB group that recognized it let me know it was on there.

This thread needs a card, and since this forum is WW II & Older, here is one that directly relates to this thread.

I had the same issue. Had to do with an uninstalled browser update issued last week. I rebooted to install the update and it is fine now. The update deleted all of my stored passwords in the process.
