If you go on the national website there is a link for housing. Click on that link an it will bring you to the lowest rates for casino hotels. The Tropicana is 125 during the week and twice that on the weekend. Def the cheapest you will find. There are higher end options on there as well. |
For those of you with limited experience with Atlantic City, I would certainly recommend paying a bit more and staying with one of the casino hotels. There are a world of motel type accommodations and, frankly, most of them are sketchy at best. And not safe at worst. There is simply no way I would go cheap in AC carrying cash or inventory or a bankroll. Pay the extra $100.
I have a lot of knowledge of AC. If anyone wants my 2 cents on a particular place pm me. Happy to give you my opinion. The Trop is a perfectly fine place to stay at. Some very nice food choices and a decent enough casino. Frankly the Sheraton is boring and drab. |
Yup, I've used Conference Housing for a room at least 5 or 6 or 7 times for the National. Worked out great!

Hi all,
Thanks for the responses but I need to stay at the Sheraton specifically. Looking to see if anybody has or knows somebody with an extra room due to staff cancelations, downsizing, financial issues, etc. As I said previously, I will pay a finders fee for a successful transfer. Thanks As always, Happy Collecting! |

The Sheraton is a great hotel and right across the street from the venue--I stayed there at the last AC convention--tried to book the last 2 times with no luck--when I got my booth friday, went to the booking agent and Sheraton was sold out already for dealers etc. I would think the signers and National people take all the rooms they are allocated. I booked Ramada about 4-5 miles out.

For those who have never been, there is no major hotel you can easily walk to from the convention center besides the Sheraton. So it's a taxi or Uber, which are plentiful in AC.
|
I actually walked to and from Caesar's one day. It's a bit of a hike but not terrible, as long as you aren't hauling a lot of crap. And have a hat.
|
I walked from the Claridge every day at the last show and didn't have an issue. The convention center is like 4 blocks from the boardwalk and less than a mile. Just be smart. If you can join another group that is walking and stick to going through the outlets and not down random side streets.

I find no direct flights from Nashville to either Atlantic City airport...
Do I fly into Philadelphia, or some other airport? And then how do I get to Atlantic City??? Cab, rail, rental car or what? Thanks. FW |

If AC airport is sold out fly into Philadelphia International. Use your phone GPS to get you over the Ben Franklin Bridge and onto the AC Expressway (nav may take you another route which is fine as well). Should take you about 90 minutes or so, depending on traffic from PHL.
|
Doc, Carl, thank you both!

Bing shows Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) about one hour from AC by car. You could take the train from Philly, but you would need to get to 30th St. Station about 8 miles from the airport. The Atlantic City Rail Line is just over 1½ hours and costs $10.75 each way. |
Thanks, Michael.
Seems to me I won't be able to go barefoot while I'm up north there, I'll need shoes. I can take 'em off when I get back to Kentucky, I reckon. |

________________________________ Good advice ^^^ My friend and I walked from the Tropicana last time. The distance is certainly manageable for most people: maybe a mile or two. Best to stick to the busier streets and walk with others if possible. |
