Hi Gang:
Anyone have anything to do with the March 28, 1970 MLB East - West Classic played in Dodger Stadium in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King? If so please post it here. Here are a few things, ticket, pin, and program I found online. Would like to see/get these and anything else any of you have. |
I have the same program you have.
Al Kaline's medal for participating in the game sold at Heritage a few weeks back. I got outbid unfortunately. |

Incredible photos of some of the greats from my formative baseball fan years. Wow. You call them snapshots but these are really nice photographs. Did you have special access to the field as a photojournalist or for some other reason? I was not even aware of this game before this thread. Did Koufax participate in it that long after retiring?

Was this West AL/NL vs. East AL/NL?

Thanks for the introduction to this event. Never heard of it. And yowza, those photos. Amazing.
A helpful intro: https://baseballhall.org/discover/ea...t-classic-1970 Maybe a dumb question, who is the pitcher on the cover? |

Thanks all! I purchased the photos as a group a few years ago. There were a few that I didn’t post of lesser known players. My primary interest was in the Clemente photo, but once I had them in hand I was glad to have added them all to my collection.
