Baseball Trade or Advertising Cards - prewar
1 Attachment(s)
Any one know of a good source to get info on Victorian Era Trade Cards? Those with a baseball theme, preferably. Just got this one: believe its 1880’s. Haven’t found an ACC # but believe these are classified as H-cards. Button’s Raven Gloss with a Springfield, MA shoe store stamp.

For trade cards in general, The Trade Card Place has a lot of good info.
http://tradecards.com/ For baseball trade cards in particular, this site is the place to go: http://www.schenectadyhistory.org/ba...rds/index.html I have over 10,000 different trade cards, including around 200 different baseball-themed ones, and I’m happy to point you toward any specific information you need. |

Underappreciated!

I love these baseball-themed trade cards, and think they are underappreciated. I will need to check out those reference sites myself.
Here is one I picked up a few years back, a baseball trade card for the White Sewing Machine Company of Cleveland OH. I think this same image was used by multiple companies. Happy to have this one in my Cleveland Type Cards Collection. |
Nice card, Jason! Yeah these older, Victorian era baseball themed cards are really growing on me. Many are in nice shape and reasonably priced. Often you can find ones stamped by a business once operated near you- like the one I posted to open this thread (Springfield, Ma is close to me).
