9th Net54baseball Front Page Auction- 1925 Manager Series PCs Cobb+ - Ends 12/17/2021

Let's bring this back to pre-war...and oddball pre-war at that! Up for auction are two 1925 Anonymous Manager Series Postcards of HOFers Ty Cobb and Wilbert Robinson.

This auction will end on Friday, 12/17/21, at 1030pm EST. A bid counts at 1030pm and is disqualified at 1031pm. In the event of a tie, the first post wins. All bids must be in WHOLE DOLLAR increments. Actual shipping will be added to the winning bid. Your choice your peril. Payment is net to me. I don't care how you pay except no Crypto...sound familiar??

I reserve the right to make changes to this auction.

Lets start the bidding at $1. And any comments to this process please post in the other thread discussing these. Let's try to keep this thread clean except for bids.

YOU MUST PUT "COBB" or "ROBINSON" next to your bid or it won't count.

**The Cobb appears to have paper loss and a small corner crease on the lower left impacting the front and back. There is also very faint pencil writing "105" on the back. Too bad, 'cause otherwise this card is a stunner.

**The Robinson has some minor surface staining (reminds me of potato chip grease) and, on the back, what appears to be a splotch of ink that someone may have tried to erase. Neither issue distracts too much from the eye appeal of the card. As with Cobb, there is very faint pencil writing on the back with roman numerals "MXI".

Good luck and happy bidding!

winners

It looks like bigfish won Mr. Cobb while jcarroll84 won Mr. Robinson with a little over an hour left on the buzzer. I thought Leon's initial bid would hold.

I'll send a PM to the two winners to get mailing addresses and discuss payment terms.

Thanks to everyone who participated! And thanks Leon, for spicing up the front page of the board with these weekly auctions.

Derek

With the caliber of cards being put up, are you shooting for $1,000 cards instead of $100 cards?

Not sure if that is directed towards me but my thought is usually at least around $200+... Anyone that has pm'd me has pretty much done what they wanted. There was an esoteric card going to be put up and I advised the seller to maybe go another route.
I am not sure we want 50 dollar cards being auctioned....just not a lot of excitement there, generally speaking..

So this one is right out? I think it has the chance to excite the masses.

lol!! I was asking in general Leon......seems to be some really nice lots being put up. As far as the "well loved" card......I have never owned a Turkey Red.....
