Cautionary Tale- Vintage Unopened Packs
2 Attachment(s)
Well this is a bummer. I decided to share one of my setbacks. I purchased an unopened 1969 Topps baseball pack either in the late 1990s or early 2000s from a Teletrade auction for what I believe was ~ $200. I had faithfully kept it in the Teletrade package ever since. I could see John Hiller (#642) and Jim Beauchamp (#613) in the back. Thus, I thought it was from the 7th series. I submitted it for grading ($334) last month [Thus, total cost of $534] and it turns out it was a resealed pack. I appreciate Steve Hart's (BBCE) evaluation of the authenticity of the pack. There was no pack grading back then, otherwise I would have never bought it. Live and learn...

69 Pack
Were the Deckle Edge inserts in 7th series packs to begin with? All high numbers I opened in 1969 (which was alot, several hundred cards) had decal inserts while the Deckle Edge inserts were in earlier series.
Did anyone in other parts of the country have Deckle Edge inserts in high numbers? |
Sorry to hear that. So the question now, do you just open it?

I was under the same impression, deckle edge in the low series and decals in the last two series.
