1950's Ted Williams Sears Gun Oil Can off to eBay
5 Attachment(s)
Hello, I would like to sell this 1950's Sears branded gun oil can that features the Sears Ted Williams merchandise logo, a faux signature of Ted, and a drawing of Ted Williams.
The can is roughly 1/4 full of oil and there are a lot of oil stains on the outside of the can. Measurements are roughly 5" high - to the top of the spout, and 2 1/2" wide and 3/4" thick. It looks to me like this is a regular Sears gun oil can, and when Sears signed with Ted, they printed a wrap with the Williams info and wrapped it around the can. In several places, the oil has soaked through the wrapping and the original wrap is visible. I haven't been able to find any of these on eBay, so I would guess that, while this may not be rare, it is difficult to find. I will take extra care with the shipping. I will make sure that the lid is on tight, and I will put the can in a small zip lock, with some paper towels to absorb any possible oil leaks and to give it some cushioning. I will then put that zip lock in a larger zip lock, again with paper for cushioning. Then, it will go in a smal box with some more cushioning, which will then be placed in a larger box with more cushioning. I know this may sound excessive, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Now listed on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/324841392846 You can pay with PayPal, Postal money order, or a personal check. First "I will take it" will take precedence over ongoing negotiations. Thank you, Rick |
