Question about BBC Exchange
I wasn't sure what section I should post this in, so sorry if it's misplaced.
Has anyone ever brought in a sealed wax case into BBC Exchange or know if that's possible to get their authentication? The wax case I have is 36 years old and has been up in my attic since I bought new in 1985, so the packing taped has dried out a lot and I'm worried if I sent it through the mail the tape would come off, so wouldn't be considered sealed anymore. I called the BBC Exchange a few days ago and left a message, but haven't received a reply yet. I know they must be extra busy with covid and everyone wanting to get authentication, so is it possible if I went to the BBC Exchange I could get it authenticated the same day or the next, as I would be traveling a distance to have it done? Thanks, Mark |
I just sent you Steve Hart's email.

What is it ?
..1985 is the cusp of 'junk'....is it basketball ? or football ? Donruss baseball ?...I hope it isn't 1985 Topps baseball cards......
..Good luck with it, though...there's going to be some rookies worth something in there..... ..keep us posted because you're certainly not alone with 1980's unopened stuff.. .. |

If you ship it you want to put the case inside another bigger box and put packing around all 4 sides of the case to protect it. I have shipped lots of cases through the years without damage as long as it is packaged correctly.

If the tape is that tenuous but it gets to BBCE for them to confirm it was factory sealed, you may opt instead to have each box wrapped FASC rather than trying to have them wrap the entire case.

How much would it cost to authenticate such case? Do they have a $5k max authentication fee or something?
