Michael Jordan's trophy?
2 Attachment(s)
I have this trophy listed on ebay. I just found the photo of Jordan holding his same trophy. For years i thought Jordan's name was engraved on his trophy its not. This could be Jordan's trophy? . After comparing the photo. I cant say it isn't his.

doesn't look like the same trophy to me?

It's not the same trophy. Look at the player holding the ball. His body is much closer to the left edge on yours, as well as the ball is further to the right on yours. Also, the "EASTMAN AWARD" engraving is lower on the one MJ is holding. Wishful thinking, but not Jordan's.

the figure can be removed.

The figure is pewter i think. there is a bolt on the bottom of the figure that would allow it to be removed. I can adjust it. I believe the lack of the silver coating . Could make the EASTMAN AWARD seem different i don't think it is.. I have never claimed this to be Jordan's personnel trophy. Today i found the Jordan photo. Only then did i think i should ask net54. I trust everyone's opinion on this site.
EASTMAN AWARD location. Look at the trophy Jordan's holding . Not the one in the photo behind him. |
It’s not his as his was ultimately engraved and was sold by Heritage Auctions:

heritage auction.
I am aware of this trophy. This is the second Michael Jordan personally owned Eastman award i have seen sold. Another sold a couple years ago. Today when i seen the trophy Jordan was holding not engraved started this conversation. Patrick Ewing also has one. i am not trying to make this to be something it is not. I would like to know what this trophy is?. There is no doubt it is the same trophy made by the same company..

You say “I trust everyone’s opinion on this site”, yet whenever someone says it’s not the Jordan trophy, you dismiss it. Also, you have this listed on eBay WITH THE PHOTO OF JORDAN AS THE MAIN LISTING PHOTO. And in the description you say “Michael Jordan’s trophy?” and “Is it the same trophy?”.
I get it. I know you WANT it to be the same one, and for your sake I wish it was! That would be awesome! But if you step back and look objectively, I think you’ll see that it’s a neat trophy, but not the one pictured with MJ. |
The player in the center of Jordan's trophy is smaller/shorter than the player on your trophy.

Patrick Ewing. i have stopped the Ebay listing. I do appreciate the opinions on this site . dismissing the opinions provided?. The only legitimate opinion provided so far is the photo of the trophy sold at auction. I have had this trophy for twenty years. i have asked questions before about the Jordan trophy that doesn't have the figure. These are legitimate questions that i have had as i try to figure out were this trophy came from. There is know doubt in my opinion that the manufacturer that made the Jordan and Ewing trophy made this one. .The auction of the engraved Jordan trophy. After seeing Jordan and Ewing holding there trophy's without the engraving on them. I question why the provider of these trophy's wouldn't have them engraved before giving them to these men. I believe a legitimate question. wishful thinking probably. I would think that if any one of you had this trophy . you would have similar questions. I do appreciate all opinions.

I think ending the listing was the right thing to do, Bobby. I'm not sure whose trophy you have, but it's definitely a very cool piece of basketball history. I hope you're somehow able to positively identify who it was given to. Best of luck.

i am finding a few trophy's. This Trophy is on display at Lejeune Hall . I have contacted the Eastman Museum . with the hope of clarifying this trophy. The Robinsons trophy on display . It does not have his name engraved on it.

It certainly looks legitimate and looks identical to the Jordan one he is photographed with—I get what you mean about the player figure being rotated. Hopefully the company can give out more info—it’s possible players received multiples or there is some other way to identify them.
