Anyone Know What Issue This Is - Lou Brock Postcard
2 Attachment(s)
Having trouble finding what issue this is exactly. It's a photo postcard of Lou Brock from when he was with the Cubs so early career, but I can't tell if it's 1960's or maybe was made a little later. Please let me know if anyone recognizes it, it was in with a collection of mostly other signed Exhibits of 1950's and 1960's players. Is it a unique postcard that someone made? Thank you.

Jeff---no help on the issue but another example of Lou not smiling as a Cub. Big smile in 65 :)
Have you checked this great thread https://www.net54baseball.com/showth...r+of+lou+brock |
Thanks Al. Cool thread. Long thread :D
I didn't see my example in there anywhere. Hopefully someone recognizes it. Thanks for pointing me to the good Lou Brock read. |
Have never seen that item before but it is super cool! Is the auto original or facsimile? Looks real with that bright blue.

Jim Rowe used that exact reverse side for his mostly printed-to-order postcards but the handful I have and every other Rowe I've seen has the players name handwritten near one edge..
Scroll down through this thread here on N54 from a few years back to see a few examples. |

Thanks for the info, and for the thread link. I bet it probably is a Jim Rowe postcard. So, when I first looked at the card and flipped it over, the back initially gave me a much older feel than the print quality of the photo. And based on what I read in that thread and a little research, it appears that maybe Rowe was printing these on old postcard stock. Which would make sense why it wasn't adding up age wise. Lou Brock isn't terribly valuable on a signed postcard, but I have have this autograph collection and some of it on consignment so I wanted to make sure I did full due diligence before selling it and having it be some ultra rare type card or something :D |
I'm going to go with Jim Rowe postcard also. Bear in mind that he made these available for many years, so though the picture is from the early 60's, this card could have been printed in the 80's.
Most of mine also have the handwritten name but maybe Brock was so recognizable that it wasn't necessary. |

Definitely Jim Rowe PC's. I have some Royals PC's by Rowe that have the exact same backs and the player's names do not appear on the front.
