1954 Topps Willie Mays Value Help
 

Hello all,

I have included 2 pictures of the card I am looking to pick up. I’m struggling to find a value as it’s graded by KSA. Card has fantastic eye appeal as you can see, but it’s graded by a sub par company. PSA 2’s in this card are around $500, but not as good as eye appeal. I’d love some help from the experts. Cheers!!

Card looks like a very nice VG+ to me. Premium centering, and the only real issue is the bent corner in the top right that the holder kind of hides with the black gasket.

Any idea on what I should be looking to pay to pick this one up?

I should start by saying I can't see your scans super well. That said, The last 2 PSA 4's (well centered) have sold for $700 and $1K respectively - from what I can see of the one you are asking about, it appears to have better eye appeal than both of those sales. I would think you would be doing okay anywhere south of $700. Buy the card, not the slab.

Check with some hockey guys, KSA is big in hockey grading IIRC.

The card looks pretty good for the grade and obviously the corner is dinged. My only issue is whatever is going on with Willie's right cheek. It looks like something damaged that area of the card, but I can't tell for sure.
