Warped PSA label?
2 Attachment(s)
Ran across this card on Ebay. I've never seen a warped/crumbled PSA label before. I can't tell if the holder edges are fogged, but I'm going on the assumption that the holder was opened and the label damaged.
Anyone else run across a label in this condition? |
I have seen this quite a few times with the older labels, yes.

Common. Not to worry.

Thanks for responding. Secondary question (or comment), it seems the grade is a bit high for the condition of the card. But that's a whole different issue. lol

Looks like some humidity or moisture got into the holder. Are those white marks on the front, on the card or on the holder?
|
I believe that this effect is due to heat, or maybe temperature variance. I stored some of my PSA graded cards in my garage, and this same thing happened over the course of 5+ years. And I live in one of if not THE mildest climates in the US.
EDIT: Also, mine are old labels like this one, at least 10 years old in all cases. Perhaps they've made some improvements to the label material since then. |
have seen this all the time.. especially in 707Sportscards booth.

Never get cheated

I always thought it was from damage in the sealing process they got a little crushed.

I’ve seen this before. In my opinion it looks like the slab was underwater. Someone bought a similar card with a warped label that was graded a 10, submitted to psa to have it reholdered and psa sent it back with an A grade due to water damage. You can see damage on the bottom left corner of the card and all up the left side - it’s a mess. Too bad.

Why do I always get the warped ones
