1963 NYY Picture Pack help

I have had a NYY picture pack for a long time but just pulled it out. In an envelope with a window and 1963 noted in pencil on back.
It is a team issue with player names followed only by Yankees. The 12 are"

Mantle - pose holding bats
Maris
Houk MGR
Berra
Ford
Howard
Tresh
Boyer
Richardson
Terry
Stafford
Kubek
They were all on 1963 roster.
A 2020 SCD review of Mantle picture pack photos notes the pose with bats as 1966 (?)
The extensive checklists done by KeyManCollectibles omits Stafford in any year.
Any experts out there to confirm if the Mantle with bats pose was in 1963 set and also was Stafford in that set? Thanks

Buzz, although I'm not an expert and I haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn Express in a long time, I also have a set with the same roster you listed that I dated to 1963. It does have Mantle holding some bats and Stafford. So I think your set is from 1963.

For about 4 years there were two producers of team sets for the Yankees (and other teams I presume) - Jay Publishing and Sports Service. (I've seen Sports Service identified as the producer of the second set but haven't confirmed that's who it was.) The set you described is by Sports Service (or at least definitely not Jay Publishing). Jay Publishing lists the team as New York Yankees while the other lists the teams as Yankees. 1965 was the last year Jay Publishing made the sets (the owner was killed in a plane crash) and the other producer continued on until 1968. What can make it even more confusing is that Sports Service may have produced more than one set in a given year with only one or two player differences in the sets. Hence the KeyMan Collectibles website lists 15 players/managers for the 1966 set even though only 12 come in each package. I also think the KeyMan Collectibles page is wrong when it says the set was manufactured by Jay Publishing. If you look at the order form they provide with the 1966 Yankees listing, you'll see there are only 16 teams. In 1966 there were 20 teams. I think this order form is from an earlier year.

Thanks, that seems to confirm 1963 and correct players. I guess there iis no definitive checklist on these photo sets

It took me a while, but I think I found where I got a lot of my information.

That's a link to the set you have. They have checklists for the other sets also. I've found them to be pretty accurate. One thing I don't understand is they have a '61 Sports Service NNY set but not a '62. I'm curious why that is.

That is helpful - didn't think to check TCDB site. Also found that I have a 1958 type B set with Shantz instead of Martin and they include checklists for the 1956 WS Yankees/Dodger set that I have. The World Series set is pretty neat - there are 2 identical envelopes glued together with 25 cards each. This last set seems pretty scarce, no idea of value

Interesting. I didn't know that. That explains the stain on the back of my envelope. I never thought it would be a glue stain. I also didn't know that I only got half of the envelope the set came in. :(

I got my set 7 years ago. It's missing three Dodgers, yep the big ones - Jackie, Sandy, and Drysdale. I paid $115 I had seen one several months earlier that I think I was the underbidder on. If my memory serves me right, it went for something over $200, maybe $240. I don't think I would have gone much above that at the time. I haven't seen one since.
