1959 Carling Jim Brown authenticity question
4 Attachment(s)
Hello!
I'm really curious to hear if you think this 1959 Carling Beer Jm Brown premium is authentic or not. It is on a slick poster stock and looks good for the time period but it lacks a number on the lower right-hand corner. A seller on Ebay right now says that examples without that number are not authentic. What do you think? As always, all help is greatly appreciated! -Frank |
That number merely means that Spence autograph authenticators looked at it and their opinion is that the signature is real. Has nothing to do with the actual premium...

All three pictures have a number in the lower right as best I can see?

The number on the JSA certificate isn't the number in question. On some 1959 Carling premiums I saw, there is a small number on the bottom right. Since this one does not have that number, I'm wondering if it's authentic.
All the pictures provided are of the same premium. I wanted to photograph it in different lights in case it helped in any way to authenticate it. |
I vote not an original premium. Dimensions seem off.

Here is a 1961 I found a picture of, and it does have the number.
