Show me what you've got (send high res front and back scans) and let me know how much you want for them. Thanks.

You should have gone to the National, I saw no less than 30 of them there

hcv123 08-03-2021 10:01 AM

I was there

All the ones I saw were priced WAY above market.

Same, most I didn’t even attempt to negotiate because they were so far off recent sales.

hcv123 08-03-2021 07:11 PM

No problem paying string for nice examples, but.....

1.5-2X is just nuts! Aside from the fact that most I saw were not such strong examples.

What were they priced at Nationals? Best of luck finding one!

investinrookies 08-03-2021 10:38 PM

If your talking 52T mantles, which I assume you are the high prices just reflect people’s lack of wanting to sell that card and in my opinion only pushes prices higher. There is always a buyer for a 52T at the new higher prices.

The lowest price I found was a very poor PSA 1 for $29k. Or even rougher conditioned graded A for $20k.

investinrookies 08-05-2021 08:16 PM

A PSA 1 ends tonight with probstein, guessing it ends 30k+ at a minimum.

I keep wondering who out there are paying $30k plus for 1s. I’d have a hard time justifying 30 for a 3. FOMO can be expensive.

You really can't look at recent sales with this card. Eye appeal drives the price.

You're killin me smalls....those are without 23% BP and the PSA 2 had practically no right border

Republicaninmass 08-06-2021 05:44 AM

Every one will be sold via the collectable app for higher....or not. Incredibly tough not to take my seat before the music stops

Indeed. The competition for the nicer looking ones gets heated and makes them behave in the market very different from the average looking examples. The boldly colored and dead-centered 3 that sold in Heritage for 162k all in some ways back is a prime example of this.

Of course then you have aspects such as unique provenance that could distinguish an example and add more bids at auction.

And Ted, if you take that seat and sell that signed one, holla at your boy! :)

Plus tax!

MattyC 08-07-2021 04:40 AM

Thx, FY :)

Just saw Mile High’s 2 closed at 57k, and REA’s 5 has cracked the 100k barrier with BP.

That 2 was a strong sale for sure especially with bad centering and snow in the background. For roughly 18k more, the winning bidder of that 2 could of had this 4 which recently closed at heritage. That being said, I think this 4 went too low.

Regrading the REA 5, it’s nice and will likely come close if not set a new high for a 5.

Certainly isnt rationale. I think we all know that.

investinrookies 08-10-2021 08:09 PM

PSA 5 in REA up to $132,000. New high is definitely possible for a 5.

Hey Howard, did you see the insane 1.5 we got back at the national? It goes up in September. Oh,and back is clean and free from damage or stains.

Wow, great looking card for a 1.5 grade. It looks like there is a small crease at the top down to his hat. Anything else that would have caused the low grade given the look of the card?

Aquarian Sports Cards 08-11-2021 11:31 AM

It's funny I actually submitted it thinking it was trimmed going for the "A" When it came back with a number I ran back to PSA and asked them to double check it and showed them what I thought the problem was. They maintained it was fine so I have to assume the area I saw as trimmed is actually damaged (which I can sorta see) if you look at the top border on the right side it starts to waiver and run down hill. I thought that was trimming, but as a I look more closely it is, hard to use the right word, but sort of smooshed in. There's no additional creasing (the wrinkle you spotted gets even lighter as it goes but does get down to about his eyebrows it is not visible on the reverse) but the paper has a bit of a rolled look to it like that section got bumped hard by something.

So I went from arguing that it didn't deserve a number to wondering why it didn't get a better one lol. No pleasing some people.

investinrookies 08-15-2021 01:03 PM

O/C PSA 3.5 went for 64K+they are definitely back on the increase.

Scott Beautiful 1.5---great looking card---I look forward to the auction---I sold a psa 2 at the National---had a multi crease 1 offered to me at 25K--but way too many creases for me.---I still have a SGC 3--Maybe next year at AC

investinrookies 08-17-2021 07:54 PM

REA's PSA 5 went for 138k and an OK PSA 3 went for 56,400, strong prices.

Thanks Don, I know every auction company says it about their cards, but man for a 1.5 this is a stunner. Even if it was bumped a grade to 2.5 it would still be a gorgeous card for the grade.

I did post in the BST correct??

I started this thread as a simple WTB thread. My understanding of forum rules is that nothing but responses by those considering selling said card(s) belong here!?

If you (plural) want to have a conversation about the 52 Mantle, there are appropriate places to start that and have at it. Please keep it out of my BST thread.

You contributed directly to the tangent twice (near the top) when you could've easily cut it off then. And with a lot less attitude. Plus, it's obviously very unusual for a BST listing to drift off this badly. A rare outlier out of countless BST listings shouldn't really merit such a reaction.

Good luck finding your '52 T Mantles
