Card is dropping like a Rock �� I pointed this out back then that it was not a true value sale when it sold for 180,000 with PWCC in Feb. Somebody really did buy it but I believe it was bought with different assets or on leverage the money was made by the investors on the under Cards. Remember cards just don’t always go up think always everything goes up this is happening with this card and the Jordan Rookie. IMO This card is still not worth $76k.
The fundamentals are not there on this card.
The money was made on the under Cards same card just lower grades like 8’s and 9’s.

Choose your consignment options wisely. You might not get these records sale numbers other people get (Feb Pwcc PSA 10 $180,000 now PSA 10 July PWCC $76k. How would you feel if you can consign this same card that sold for less than half of the same card same same grade 3 months ago with the same auction house?

I know I just purchased a really nice 80 topps set with a nicely centered henderson for less than $200.00 and that made me very happy.

Yep, I picked up a perfectly centered Psa Nm 7 with great color and registration last month on BST for a little over what it would cost to have PSA grade it today. I don't really understand the Gem Mint crowd, if I had 180k to spend it would be on Cobbs & Ruths not an iconic 1980 rookie card, but to each their own.

Do not underestimate the power of ego and bragging rights. It has little to do with the card which you couldn't distinguish from most 9s if busted out.

It's such a strange hill to die on though. I could pick up 2 or 3 Goudey Ruth's along with the Lajoie, a Cracker Jack Jackson, and a 51 Bowman Mantle with that budget and have enough left over to treat you to a nice lunch.

People spend a million on some weird looking ugly Anthony Davis or Luka card, that would buy what in vintage? Different thing altogether.

With a grand total of 4 8s and 2 9s, I'd rather own this Rickey than the mass produced 80 Topps.

There is no reason to assume that it's not worth 75 k now. Was a strong market pre-pandemic (for about the prior five years) that was chomping at the bit to buy any that came available for 30 k then.

Prices of the crazy '80s PSA 10s that have corrected so badly since February have steadied some lately. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the "new" levels going forward for a long time.

Plus the current value still isn't extended nearly as much as most elite PSA 10 '80s cards, especially the Jordan rookie (which is still almost 10 x pre-pandemic levels, compared to a 2 1/2 times gain for the Henderson)

It’s the Wild Wild West....can people be this Dumb to believe many PWCC Numbers as True Values Of said Card.

All I can say is PWCC is Not a fiduciary, even with all their Fancy BS Stickering/Marketing Lingo, investment marketplace crap.
