FS 1947 Morley Sportgrafic Cards
FS 1947 Morley Sportgrafic Cards. Somewhat scarce. Guaranteed authentic but I have no clue if an opinionating company. aka TPG, would or could grade these. The sizes are always a little different between cards. If anything I suspect they would get a hand cut designation and an AUT, which I assume they are. You're welcome for not ranting about the TPG's definitions of hand cut. They have some creasing which can mainly be seen when tilted and around the edges. Nothing too offensive...
$135 each, net to me - delivered. Thanks... https://luckeycards.com/morleyx3.jpg |
I looked up Pete Tedeschi and Carl Shapley. Both failed at professional baseball, but went home to Calistoga, California and Wichita, Kansas, respectively, where they were both quite successful and highly thought of. And as their cards state, both saw their share in WW2. Beautiful cards with interesting history, Leon.

What are the dimensions of the Tedeschi and Shapley cards? Not sure these were actually hand cut. The Bartolomei card was one of a series of seven cards from the set that were blank backed. Could just be that unbacked series/group was a slightly different size. And all three cards are creased? How bad is the creasing on Tedeschi and Shapley? Is it just on a side or a corner, or does it actually go through either of those player's images? Also, on the back of the Tedeschi card at the very top, above the letter A, is a very small black dot. What is that? Thanks. |
