Delaware auction of $1 MILLION of unopened returned as Fraudulent
From the PSA message board:
https://forums.collectors.com/discus...ostly-unopened Interesting thread, but since there are a lot of unopened buyers here, figured you should all be on the lookout for these boxes getting passed along some other way. Shocked that PSA allows threads like this on their board (although not suspending their own fraudster for trying resell the scam boxes multiple times), but will not allow discussion of their own screwups. a.k.a. Wow. The Hoopers again?? Oye. Hopefully something happens to them. Wax is so risky even more so cuz of these nutjobs. Some of their work can easily fool alot of buyers.
All that work they did but they got sloppy instead of selling it off a little at a time. "But in the end, they're all greedy" --- Sam Rothstein Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk |
Thanks for the post John. Pretty eye opening stuff when you read that thread.

I bought a box once from a lot that had come from a dealer known for searching packs. He had a lot of unopened junk wax, supposedly all searched.
The box I got was apparently from the "good" pile, as there was a then better card in every pack. Overall probably still worth less today than I paid back then. |

I was once sold a " rare " fake Beatle record by R Hooper

I couldn't bring myself to buy any "unopened" wax, authenticated or not. I get the appeal but it's too easy to reseal wax and sell it as unopened.
