Post Some Pandemic Craziness
Over the past year, card collecting has seemingly become a dumpster fire, and no one knows what in high heck is going to happen next.
• So post something that you'd never thought you'd ever hear, a random occurrence or strange fact, or anything else that helps illustrate the bizarreness of these times. I will start. Today I did a double take when I was dumbfounded to run across the phrase "global toploader shortage." |
People attacking others and pulling guns on one another in a Target parking lot over freaking cards...

And most of the Topps Project 70 cards I've seen have made me almost lose my lunch.

Hell froze over for me when some of the best deals were old Deans Cards listings!

Junk wax era cards selling for hundreds or thousands of dollars

I'd of lost that bet. |
I routinely bid $10 for a card that sells for $40, even when a BIN available for $20.

I wanted a Rusty Staub signed rookie card. It went for $118.00 on ebay. I don't know if that is normal, but too high for me. Right now I've switched to collecting the same players post cards and press photos. Cool and inexpensive. Will come back to my card sets when the bubble bursts.

Many years ago my friend sold his (ungraded) Mantle cards in order to buy an engagement ring for his girl. A couple of years later he felt some regrets (not about his wife, no way!!) when he realized how much the Micks had exponentially increased in value over the relatively short amount of time that had passed. Fast forward to today, and you're hit by those same exact regrets...but they come after only a single week has passed since you sold your Mantles. Up, up, up and away they go!!
