What's your guess on how long...
Nolan Ryan's 7 No-Hitters stand as the record...
Could it be broken in the next 3-4 years...the way things are going??? Six so far this season, plus a 7-Inning one not counted on a pandemic technicality (regardless, it was a complete game). How many players will strike out 100 times this year, 150 times, 200 times. A few days ago, the Braves and the Yankees were one-two in homers, yet toward the bottom in runs scored. THIS SUX!! . |
I think Nolan's record will stand for at least 50 years. Though there have been a ton of no-hitters this year, the trend might not continue. And 7 no-hitters is just such a monumental record, that even if there are no-hitters at this rate it still might not be broken.

No active pitcher has more than 2 no-hitters, I seriously doubt those guys have 5 more in the next 3-4 years.

I think Nolan's record is safe. I also think we're within a couple years of a rule change or two, to make things tougher on the pitchers.
Whether it's less use of stick'em, lowering the mound again, or just pushing it back a foot or two. Something's coming. |
