Your use of Macy's makes me laugh.

Since Topps bought Bowman in 1956, does that make 1952 Bowman cards "former Topps cards"?

Your analogy would work better for something with a Macy's sticker (not a stamp) that could be described as "formerly Strawbridge & Clothier".
