Doubtful to find an authenticated one for $5K in today's market but maybe $6K on a good day.

thx mark, the autograph market is less volatile than cards for sure. i'm sure i'll find something eventually if i'm patient.

a couple more checks went off the board tonight in lelands. i didn't want to push either check pass the 5-6k mark. i suspect i'm losing all these to the pristine and mill creek types who will put it up on ebay at 10k+.

tl;dr i'm still looking for one paying fair market if you want to cut out the middle man/fee.

I did win the Babe Ruth Check in Lelands $6063--psa 8 grade encapsulated--the other check went in the 5 range, but that one wasnt graded--so I would say Ruth checks that are graded will now be $5500-7K range.

Congrats Don that was a solid check, nice and clean! The ending price sat there for a week and didn't move, I don't really care about a number grade for autographs.

I was outbid on the other during extended bidding, the next bid would've taken it to the same level as yours and I felt it was visually a much inferior example (albeit autos were about the same) so I just let it be. After getting outbid I briefly thought about putting in one more bid for the nice one but thought better of it, $60xx was a nice price.
