USPS Lack o' Performance Mystery Solved

1 Attachment(s)
I read that there have been 27 Postal Truck fires in the last 12 months. This one was in Palm Beach County FL yesterday.

All mail was lost except for a single piece, a woman's US Citizenship Papers...........

I guess

there were so many delays - someone tried to light a fire under their ass

What a shame if there were collectible artifacts of any kind in any of the fires.

PO

Most of these old style LLV's were made in the early 90's. They are constantly in the shop for repairs, and many of these fires seem to stem from the catalytic converter.

I was a carrier back in 1994 when we received our first LLV and I was the first one from my office to drive one. They were dangerous and unwieldy back then and they still are. No AC, a heater that barely produces any heat and very poor visibility. They are rear wheel drive and they don't work well in the icy and snowy winters here in Wisconsin.

In my last Postmaster job, we had 2 of these. One was the same vehicle that we received back in 1994 when I was a carrier and the other was made in 1995. BTW, I was the PM in that particular office until 2017, so they were 23 and 22 years old at that time.

The Union has kept track of LLV fires since 2014 and there have been 407 fires.

Where’s the rest if it? Do they make their trucks out of paper?

Who got a kick back from authorizing the purchase of them?

Good thing the driver sits on the right side of the vehicle.

egri 04-28-2021 06:44 PM

I hope the driver was ok.

That picture reminds me of a certain T206 Rube Waddell.

I can't be the only one...

I live eastern edge of Illinois right on the Wabash. I've noticed that lately mail from towns 8-10 miles away is being routed through St. Louis. All the way across the state and then back. 300+ mile trip.

My claim to fame is that I was the underbidder on Mike's flaming mail truck Waddell when he won it at auction.

Brian (surprise surprise)
