Were L1 Leather premiums issued in two different sizes?
An auction house currently is selling individually a complete set of 1912 L1 Leather premiums. Each of the 25 descriptions says the premium is "Desirable oversized (approx. 10"x14")."
I have three L1 Leathers in my collection, and not one of them comes close to measuring 10 x 14, even when measuring from the Leather's outermost edges. I've never heard of these being issued in two sizes, nor am I aware of significant size variances. It's an obscure issue, but does anyone have any insight? Is there a "regular" size of L1 Leathers and an "oversized" version? |

Coupon states 10" x 12".

Most did, but I have not seen verified examples of everything (i.e. the LL or large large designs noted to be 6 ft square).
Here's a link showing many examples of the natural hide variation. Unfortunately, it does not include Amherst. http://www.moviecard.com/gallery/leathers/l2.html Jeff |

Everything shown in that gallery is 10" x 12". I have not seen any true examples of the 6ft leathers.

Every thread needs some cards.. Evers Satin..
I have seen leathers that were cut in different shapes, I will look to see if I have any pictures. I have only owned one L1 a Doonin. When leathers still retain their original coloring against a light tan background they are spectacular. Regardless Leathers and large Satins (silks) are very scarce and among the most attractive Baseball items ever issued. |

Nice add with the Evers. I've always liked this Basket Ball Girl silk/satin available on the same coupon.
