I know, that's great isn't it? I don't know what I'd do with it, but I like it. What's the most valuable card you can spot on this item?

The C55 Vezina.
I saw this at the Toronto Expo, from the seller. It's a wacky, one of a kind piece for sure.

Speaking of weird - it’s always been easy to spot a young collector/breaker:

Here's two weird entries for you.

I'm just not sure why Weird Al Yankovic needs a trading card (at least he's got a baseball bat)....but hey-ho here you go!

As a history nut, I've always been enamored with Betsy Ross' original design for our American flag...

I cannot stop laughing at this. The choice of card is especially funny.

Thanks, but it looks like Betsy Ross beat us to it! I'm not sure if George is pleased or not...

It does make sense though...our Founding Fathers (and Mothers) were speculating that the United States of America would make it as a country.

Brian

Which one of the Founding Fathers do you think speculated on a future HOF'er? Which Founding Father would be most like Dean's Cards? Personally, I think Ben Franklin would be most like Uncle Jimmy.

John Hancock would be comparable to Mr. Mint.

I really need you to crash your next local MENSA meeting wearing that thing, jangling around gently as you move.

I think John Adams would take the risk. I think the delegates from South Carolina would be like Dean's Cards. Sorry I am also picturing this going like 1776 the musical.

If you know history, Benedict Arnold was to the founding Fathers what Gregg Jeffries was to the Mets. A lot of promise early on but didn't end so well...

JollyElm 03-28-2021 09:50 PM

It's always been my contention that Benedict Arnold traded his inside information of West Point to the British for a high grade 1981 Fleer "Craig" Nettles card, but many historians disagree with my assessment of the evidence.

Mark17 03-28-2021 10:27 PM

Aaron Burr was the original card doctor, trimming, coloring, working on corners, playing all the angles to achieve money, fame, and power. He was the most corrupt of the founders, and guilty of treason against all that the others held dear.

When asked, on his deathbed, if he thought he was destined for heaven, Burr replied, "On that subject I remain coy."
