What do you guys make of this? Sold listings on eBay. Scam? Legit sale? Talk about missing the boat if so

Saw that. And this was his only listing. I’m just trying to figure out what was going on. Was it a legit mantle that he posted at the incorrect price and pulled down? A fake PSA that really sold for $8,000? The whole thing just seems odd.

The cert number comes up as a PSA 3 Mantle on PSA so the holder is legit even if the card in it isn't.

Likely just stolen images from a previous sale or the registry

We call them "ebay loan scams." Seller's account was likely compromised, images stolen from internet. Buyer pays, thinking they got a steal. PayPal account gets drained, no card gets sent (or an empty envelope). Buyer requests refund and gets paid by eBay.
