I believe it is actually a poison dart from blowgun of a member of the Quetcozuel tribe of the upper Amazonian basin.

Brian (no such tribe, but the poison is deadly)

Looks like a syringe. Maybe Cobb was using steroids? It might explain his frequent fits of rage...

It’s actually an aerial shot of Cobb on his back after a tranquilizer dart.

Always wanting to be stylin', Cobb wore his wristwatch on the field and when this shot was taken, the band on the watch had just broken.

Tyrus turned 134 last December, of course he would be first in line for the Covid vaccine.

It's a tiny cowbell.

ullmandds 02-11-2021 05:37 AM

I think it's the tag for his sweater...It was new and Ty forgot to remove it?

charlietheexterminator 02-11-2021 05:40 AM

Obviously it’s an electrical cord, you clearly see it’s wrapped around his forearm.

You were all so close! It's exact proof of the 1st "device cheating scandal".

Much like the present day Altuve incident! lol

Peace, Mike

I heard he is one of those guys that wears clothes and returns them after. He was just trying to save a buck, that is why he was so wealthy after his career ended.

I’ll say extra sharpened spike in case there’s a mostly peaceful altercation surrounding a call on the base path.

It's a bird. It's a little known fact that Cobb killed a bird during a game decades before Randy Johnson.

Ty....................loved.................... tassles!!!!

Couldn't get enough of 'em.

D. Bergin 02-12-2021 09:21 AM

If you look really, really close at the object under a magnifying loupe, it's a tag on his shirt that a team-mate has cheekily penned in the words "Billy Ripken".

Question....

All kidding aside, it is very clear and looks more than a printing blemish. It does resemble a tag or something. what is strange is that no other E98 Cobb's (all colors) have this on them. I found one other Green that had what looked like a blemish in that area but that is the closest I found.

Pretty cool either way you look at it!

Peace, Mike

Artefact......

Not typically used to describe printing errors on baseball cards but I know there are enough T206 experts on here.

Without using any puns or jokes (trust me the best have already been used in this thread), can this be considered an "artefact"?

Meaning: "anomalies apparent during visual representation as in digital graphics and other forms of imagery, especially photography and microscopy"

Curious on thoughts here since this is so clear but only found on 1 card that I can tell so far?

Thanks! Mike
