LIVE AUCTIONS Section Of Forum
I always thought that the Live Auctions section of the forum was a place to list cards in a true auction and just maybe someone could get a decent deal on a card. It seem like lately a lot of the card are listed with the opening bid at what the card would sell for on eBay or even higher.

Not saying people don't have the right to do what they like, or that I even have a problem with it, but we are taught in auction school that an auction is intended to set the market not reflect it. The only way that happens is by encouraging bidding, not limiting it. |
I am guessing his pet peeve is the opening bids are what the item typically sells for on Ebay. If someone wants Ebay prices, maybe sell it on Ebay?? Here you don't have to pay any fees.....maybe start a lower and if the item gets up to Ebay than great, if not, then you still made a sell and didn't have to pay any fees. Quite frankly, I am not willing to put items on here for .99 cents like I do on Ebay, because it doesn't get the eyeballs like Ebay does. I wish it did. I would LOVEEEEEEEE to put all my items on here. But the lack of eyeballs, and the fact you can only list 3 items at a time kinda makes it limiting.

I've seen auctions here end at completely give it away prices and felt bad for the seller. I have no problem with sellers who start auctions at the lowest price they would take, there is simply not enough traffic here to compete with Ebay.
