1911 S74 Silks (79 total) Cobb Mathewson...
Down to 22 total...
Cobb and Mathewson are now gone. Still have 3 Hall of Famers. Do not see how to edit the thread subject line. I have just acquired a collection of 1911 S74 Silks. These were all assembled by a 15 year old in 1911. He passed away in 1962, and these were sitting in his son’s home since then. It appears that he did not like the ad backs, because they have all been removed. YES, I am aware this makes them less valuable, and they are priced accordingly. Most are in pretty remarkable condition considering the age and materials. I have listed a bunch of them at Ebay (and ambitious prices to see if there is interest). Much rather sell them on the board, of course, so will listen to all reasonable offers. If you follow this link to Ty Cobb , you should be able to browse around at the scans of the ones I put up. I can provide scans of everything else. Just let me know. This is a complete list: s74-1 (White Backs) Chief Bender Athletics brown ink HOF Ed Konetchy Cardinals blue ink Roger Bresnahan Cardinals brown ink HOF Steve Evans Cardinals brown ink Ed Reulbach Cubs red ink Jimmy Sheckard Cubs blue ink Mordecai Brown Cubs red ink HOF Tom Needham Cubs red ink Wildfire Schulte Cubs blue ink Art Devlin Giants red ink Larry Doyle Giants blue ink Rube Marquard Giants red ink HOF Robert Ewing Phillies red ink Mickey Doolan Phillies blue ink Art Wilson Pirates blue ink Howie Camnitz Pirates brown ink John Flynn Pirates red ink Al Mattern Rustlers blue ink Ed Cy Barger Superbas blue ink Tony Smith Superbas red ink Ed Willett Tigers blue ink s74-2 Colored Backs (All Old Mill) Howie Camnitz Pirates (pink) |

Just wanted to express my sincere thanks to Phil for a smooth transaction. I was really glad to be able to add these nice silks to my Yankees collection. Thanks again!
