Bob Bonner - The other Rookie on the '82 Topps Ripken Rookie Card

Great story I came across about Bob Bonner, the player to the left of Cal Ripken on his rookie 'Future Stars' 1982 Topps card #21

For those who love understanding more about the struggle, near misses and stories of professional players who played in the MLB, here's an interesting one.... I was pretty compelled; enjoy!

NOTE: you need to scroll a couple of inches down the page to begin reading the interview w/ Bob Bonner.

Great read. Just goes to show you some people can't see passed the noses on their face. (Weaver, Altobelli, Orioles organization at the time )

Yeah - I just got curious about the guy who was thought to be the future SS for Baltimore only to be replaced by Ripken for what turned out to be a historic career.

Did a search and once I started to read the interview I felt like I hit the jackpot - better than any wiki page, for sure....just had to share! I'm glad some are enjoying it.

Very interesting. If he hit .300 I bet Baltimore would've been more open to him sharing his faith.
